This policy applies to SEMEP.
1. What SEMEP is
SEMEP is the mobile companion app for StablEdge desktop. You can use it to view conversations from StablEdge on your computer, send messages and start new conversations, and handle approvals from your phone. Your conversations and files stay on your own computer. SEMEP has no account system, and we do not store your conversation content on our servers.
2. What we do not collect
- We do not require you to register an account, and we do not collect your name, phone number, or email.
- We do not store your conversations, files, or approvals on our servers.
- SEMEP has no ads and no third-party analytics SDKs, and does no cross-app or cross-site tracking.
3. Information processed on your phone
| Information | Purpose | Where it is stored |
|---|---|---|
| Pairing credentials (device ID, encryption keys) | Prove this phone was authorized on your computer | Only in the iOS Keychain and app storage on this device |
| Conversations, tasks, and approvals synced from your computer | Display them on your phone | From your computer; may be cached locally; deleted when the app is removed |
| Preferences (appearance, language, text size) | Remember your settings | On this device |
4. How your phone connects to your computer
- Direct on the same network: your phone connects to your computer directly. Data does not pass through our servers.
- Encrypted relay: when the two are on different networks, traffic is forwarded through relay servers we operate (stableisland.cn). The phone and computer use an end-to-end encrypted channel; the relay only forwards ciphertext and cannot decrypt your content.
- The relay does not store message content or notification bodies. To establish connections, prevent abuse, and troubleshoot problems, it processes and briefly retains the following:
- Connection records: rendezvous ID, IP address truncated to the network prefix, connection time, duration, and traffic bytes, kept for 30 days;
- Gateway access logs (including full IP address), kept for 30 days;
- Push tokens: kept for at most 90 days after the device stops being used, and deleted immediately when the push registration is revoked;
- Rendezvous ID: deleted after your computer has not connected for 180 days.
5. Push notifications
- If you allow notifications, iOS assigns SEMEP a push token (device token). SEMEP gives it to your paired computer and registers it with our relay. When your computer has new messages or approvals, your phone is notified via Apple Push Notification service (APNs).
- Notifications sent through our relay are end-to-end encrypted: neither our relay nor Apple can read the notification body. SEMEP decrypts it on your phone before display.
- If you configure your own Apple push key on your computer so that it sends notifications directly via APNs, those notifications do not pass through our servers, and the title and a short summary are carried by APNs in the standard way.
- Removing this phone on your computer, deleting this computer in SEMEP, or deleting the app invalidates or revokes the push registration. You can also turn off notifications in iOS Settings at any time.
6. System permissions
| Permission | Purpose | Uploaded? |
|---|---|---|
| Camera | Scan the pairing QR code shown on your computer | No; images are recognized on device only |
| Local Network | Connect directly to your paired computer on the same network | Connects only to your computer |
| Microphone and Speech Recognition | Turn speech into text for input | No; uses iOS on-device speech recognition; audio is never uploaded to any server or sent to your computer; only the recognized text is sent |
| Face ID | Confirm it's you before approving sensitive actions on your computer from your phone | No; handled by iOS on device; we never receive biometric data |
| Notifications | See Section 5 | Push token registration only |
You can turn off any of these in iOS Settings at any time. The related feature will stop working; other features are not affected.
7. Sharing
We do not share your information with third parties except:
- Apple Push Notification service (APNs), only to deliver notifications (see Section 5).
- Where required by law or a lawful request from authorities. Because of end-to-end encryption, we cannot provide your conversation content in any case.
8. Your rights
- Deletion:
- Deleting a computer in SEMEP removes that computer's pairing credentials and data from this phone and revokes the related push registration. The pairing record for this phone kept on your computer must be removed on the computer.
- Removing this phone on your computer immediately invalidates this phone's pairing credentials.
- Deleting SEMEP removes all app data on the device.
- Access or deletion of relay connection records related to your device: contact us using the details above.
9. Children
SEMEP is a productivity tool for computer users and is not directed at children under 14.
10. Changes
If this policy changes materially, we will notify you on our website and in the app.
